Apple is expected to unveil the iPhone 18 Pro lineup, with the new models tipped to bring a range of notable changes compared with previous versions, particularly in the camera system, battery, connectivity and design.
According to the latest leaks, the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max could receive several upgrades that would make the new generation noticeably different from the current Pro models.
Bigger Main Camera and Major Upgrades
One of the expected changes is the camera system, with Apple reportedly working on a major upgrade to the main camera, along with additional improvements to the telephoto camera.
According to leaks, the new main camera will require a larger module, which could increase the thickness of the rear camera bump by more than 2 millimeters compared with the previous generation.
Reports also suggest that the iPhone 18 Pro could feature a variable aperture, giving the camera greater flexibility in controlling the amount of light entering the lens and potentially improving photography in different conditions.
New Modem Designed by Apple
Apple is also expected to take another step toward relying on its own technology by equipping the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max with the company’s C2 modem.

Battery life could be one of the biggest strengths of the new generation, particularly for the Pro Max model.
The combination of the C2 modem and the new A20 Pro chip is expected to give the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max the longest battery life ever seen on an iPhone.
The iPhone 18 Pro Max could also feature a battery around 10% larger than its predecessor, according to regulatory filings, potentially allowing the device to run for longer periods without needing to be recharged.
New Color and Bolder Design
After Apple introduced bolder colors with the iPhone 17 Pro, the company appears set to continue that approach with the next generation.
Leaks suggest that Apple could introduce a new dark shade resembling cherry or burgundy, setting it apart from the more traditional colors typically offered for Pro models.
If launched, it would be the first red-toned finish Apple has introduced for an iPhone Pro model.
Smaller Dynamic Island
The changes are not expected to be limited to the cameras and colors, as the Dynamic Island could also receive a redesigned look on the iPhone 18 Pro.
Leaks suggest that the Dynamic Island could become around 35% smaller than its current size, providing more screen space and giving the phone a more streamlined appearance.
