Letters attributed to Natalie Harp, a close aide to U.S. President Donald Trump, have shed light on the unusually close relationship between the two, as growing questions emerge inside and outside the White House about her constant presence at his side.
Letters Highlight Harp’s Strong Loyalty to Trump
The Daily Beast published the letters in full after writer Michael Wolff obtained them while working on a book about Trump’s 2024 presidential campaign.
One of the letters highlights Harp’s strong devotion and loyalty to Trump. She told the president that she never wanted to disappoint him and described him as her “Guardian and Protector” in life.
She also expressed her desire to maintain a strong relationship with him.
Harp Recalls Her Conversations With Trump
In another letter, Harp looked back on her time as a host at One America News Network and recalled the phone calls she used to have with Trump.
She wrote that she missed the conversations they once shared about various topics and hoped to restore what she described as their “synergy” outside of work.
Harp also urged Trump to be honest with her when she made mistakes, saying he had the right to reprimand her when necessary because she viewed him as the person who knew and cared about her the most.
Trump Aide Draws Growing Scrutiny
The letters emerged as Harp has come under increasing scrutiny over her unusually close proximity to Trump. Democratic Sen. Jon Ossoff of Georgia recently mentioned her in a speech that went viral, criticizing her constant presence alongside the president.
Harp frequently accompanies Trump during his travels and was recently seen with him as he departed the White House aboard Marine One for South Carolina.
Harp’s Expanding Role Inside Trump’s Inner Circle
Officials familiar with her role say Harp is more than a traditional presidential aide. She takes part in meetings inside the Oval Office and remains in direct contact with Trump for much of the day, including late-night conversations about social media posts.
She also serves as a channel between Trump and outside figures, passing messages to the president, arranging meetings and sometimes preparing posts for his Truth Social account, while also bringing him printed articles and other material about him.
Why Harp Is Known as the “Human Printer”
Harp has become known within Trump’s circle as the “Human Printer,” a reference to her constant handling of printed documents.
The nickname appeared in one of her letters, in which she recalled a trip to Scotland and Ireland and said Trump had pushed her to step away from work and enjoy the trip.
Harp’s Unusual Effort to Stay Close to Trump
Harp’s close relationship with Trump is not new. CNN previously reported that in October 2023, she rode in the trunk area of an SUV carrying the president so she could accompany him to a court appearance in New York City after there was no room for her inside the vehicle.
Harp began working with Trump after her career as a television host, having credited the president with helping save her life.
Senior Aides Reportedly Frustrated by Harp
Her approach has also reportedly frustrated some senior Trump aides, at times prompting efforts to keep her away from the president’s inner circle. Multiple sources, however, say her unwavering loyalty to Trump has helped strengthen her position within his team.
White House spokesperson Davis Ingle defended Harp, describing her as one of the most loyal and hardworking members of Trump’s team.
Privately, White House officials have acknowledged that the growing criticism surrounding her has had the opposite effect, drawing even more attention to her relationship with the president.
